Review: Rowdy by Jay Crownover
Series: Marked Men (Book 5)
Publication Date: 21st October 2014
After the only girl he ever loved told him that he would never be enough, Rowdy St. James knocked the Texas dust off his boots and set out to live up to his nickname. A good ol’ boy looking for good times and good friends, Rowdy refuses to take anything too seriously, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. Burned by love once, he isn’t going to let himself trust a woman again. But that’s before his new co-worker arrives, a ghost from the past who’s suddenly making him question every lesson he ever learned.
Salem Cruz grew up in house with too many rules and too little fun—a world of unhappiness she couldn’t wait to forget. But one nice thing from childhood has stayed with her; the memory of the sweet, blue-eyed boy next door who’d been head over heels in love with her little sister.
Now, fate and an old friend have brought her and Rowdy together, and Salem is determined to show him that once upon a time he picked the wrong sister. A mission that is working perfectly—until the one person that ties them together appears, threatening to tear them apart for good.
My Rating: 5 out of 5 stars
Rowdy is my favourite Marked Man after Jet. Maybe joint favourite. Definitely joint favourite. I love all these guys but Jet and Rowdy... Yeah. They're my favourites and while I'm happy with Jet's HEA, I had a hard time liking Ayden during their book. I really hoped the same wouldn't happen here for Rowdy and it didn't! I LOVED Salem from the very beginning. She fits right into the crew, she's smart, sassy and sexy. She knows what she wants and she wants Rowdy!
The two of them are two peas in a pod. I loved their shared history and how it brought them together but also had the potential to keep them apart.
The story was very sexy, very funny, sweet and at times surprising.
It's one of those books that you feel. Skipped heartbeats, fluttery tummy and full body tingles. It was awesome.
On top of the awesomeness that was Rowdy and Salem, there was extra awesome in the shape of lots of developments in the "Marked" world. Some made me smile, some made me so sad and it made for an addictive book.
Asa is up next and it looks like he and Royal will be another cracking read. Can't wait!!
