Series: Chaos MC (book 2)
Publication Date: 4th June 2013
Lanie Heron isn't looking for love-no surprise, considering her last serious relationship nearly got her killed. So when Lanie propositions Hop Kincaid, all she wants is one wild night with the hot-as-hell biker who patrols with the Chaos Motorcycle Club . . .
For Hop, Lanie has always been untouchable. She's too polished and too classy for his taste. But when she gives Hop the once-over with her bedroom eyes and offers him a night in paradise, he can't say no. And he doesn't regret it when he finds that Lanie is the best thing that's ever happened to him-in or out of bed. Now the trick will be to convince her of that
My Rating: 3 / 5 stars
My Kristen Ashley indoctrination began with book 3 in this series: Ride Steady.
I enjoyed it – a lot – and decided to go back and read from the beginning so I read Own The Wind and FREAKING LOVED IT!
So, I was really excited to read this and I’m so sad to say that I was disappointed.
The story was ok, the world of Chaos was awesome, but I didn’t click with Lanie or Hop. I wasn’t sold with them as a couple. I feel you need to connect with the characters to be absorbed into a book where the entire focus is on the relationship between two characters and I didn’t.
I found Lanie to be an epic pain in the ass. Hopper to be an obnoxious alpha, as opposed to a yummy one. The secrecy was annoying and it read like sex, more sex, drama, sex; rinse and repeat.
It had some good moments, and I liked how it runs alongside Own The Wind but this one just didn’t do it for me, and that makes me sad.
I’m not deterred though! I’m off to read Tack & Cherry’s book – Motorcycle Man – from Kristen Ashleys Dream Man series - so I can learn more about the man at the heart of Chaos MC and where it all began.
