Series: The Dark Elements (book 0.5)
Publication Date: 1st December 2013
Dez wasn't just Jasmine's crush. A gargoyle Warden like Jas, he helped her come to terms with her destiny—fending off demons and maintaining the balance between good and evil. He was her everything…right until the moment he disappeared without a trace. It didn't help that Jas's father had just announced that she and Dez would one day be mated. Hard not to take that personally.
And now he's back, three years older, ten times hotter, ready to pick up exactly where they left off. But Jas isn't taking that risk again. Dez has seven days to meet all her conditions and earn back her trust. Seven days filled with terrifying danger and sweet temptation. Seven days to win her heart—or shatter it all over again...

I love JLA books. I especially love JLA’s paranormal books. She creates wonderful worlds and loveable characters and you know you are going to get lots of angst, passion, giggles and action.
Then why has it taken me so long to start reading this series you may ask?
Well it’s really quite simple. I didn’t want to deal with the annoying agony of waiting for the next book. Every Last Breath has now released – completing the series - and thus I am now reading.
Bitter Sweet Love is a prequel novella to the trilogy. It focuses on different characters – Dex and Jasmine - but it introduces us to Layla – the half demon, half Warden – who is the narrator of the trilogy and it introduces to the world.
It was a quick read and it was highly enjoyable.
I liked Dex, I liked Jasmine, I found the chemistry between them to be addictive and if I’m being 100% honest I wanted more of them by the end of the novella and didn’t really give a fig about Layla and Zayne. However, I have no doubt that I’ll love Layla when I move onto White Hot Kiss and I’m sure that Dex, Jasmine and others will crop up throughout.
A perfectly addicting introduction to a fascinating new world from a wonderful author! If you like YA paranormals then I highly suggest you read it!
