Review: Built by Jay Crownover
Series: Saints of Denver (Book 1)
Publication Date: 5th Jan 2016
Sayer Cole and Zeb Fuller couldn’t be more different. She’s country club and fine-dining, he’s cell-block and sawdust. Sayer spends her days in litigation, while Zeb spends his working with his hands. She’s French silk, he’s all denim and flannel.
Zeb’s wanted the stunning blonde since the moment he laid eyes on her. It doesn't matter how many smooth moves he makes, the reserved lawyer seems determinedly oblivious to his interest—either that or she doesn't return it. Sayer is certain the rough, hard, hot-as-hell Zeb could never want someone as closed off and restrained as she is, which is a shame because something tells her he might be the guy to finally melt her icy exterior.
But just as things start to heat up, Zeb is blindsided by a life altering moment from his past. He needs Sayer’s professional help to right a wrong and to save more than himself. He can’t risk what’s at stake just because his attraction to Sayer feels all consuming. But as these opposites dig in for the fight of their lives, battling together to save a family, the steam created when fire and ice collide can no longer be ignored.
My Rating: 5+ out of 5 stars
OMG! This book! This flippin' book... I LOVED this book! Seriously LOVED!! What a fabulous story! What wonderful characters!
I was so excited for this book after meeting Zeb and Sayer, in the Marked Men series, and it did not disappoint! Jay Crownover has created another stunningly addictive read in Built.
Zeb is a guy with a heart of gold. Yes, he served time but when I found out what he served time for I wanted to give him a high five for being the type of guy who will defend those he loves no matter the cost to himself. For rising above his shaky start to adulthood and making something of himself. For being the type to not walk away from your responsibilities. For knowing who he is and owning it... And, OMG, how he loves Sayer gave me chills! The chemistry between the two was off. The. Charts! The feels the two generate... *shivers* Fan-freakin-tastic!
The twists in the book, while easy enough to guess before reading - especially if you've read the Marked Men and know what kind of lawyer Sayer is - were awesome. The journey the characters took together was awesome. Catching up with beloved characters from the past series? Freakin' awesome!!!
Quite simply put, the book is awesome!
I was lucky enough to get an ARC and have already read it twice. It's just that lovely and addictive!
Cannot recommend this book enough. So excited to read more in this series!
(ARC received in exchanged of a honest review)
