Review: Sweet Home by Tillie Cole

Genre: Contemporary Romance - New Adult - College - Sports

Series: Sweet Home (Book 1)

Publication Date: 13th October 2013

At age twenty, Molly Shakespeare knows a lot.

She knows Descartes and Kant.

She knows academia and Oxford.

She knows that the people who love you leave you.

She knows how to be alone.

But when Molly leaves England's grey skies behind to start a new life at the University of Alabama, she finds that she has a lot to learn — she didn't know a summer could be so hot, she didn't know students could be so intimidating, and she certainly didn't know just how much the folks of Alabama love their football.

When a chance encounter with notorious star quarterback, Romeo Prince, leaves her unable to think of anything but his chocolate-brown eyes, dirty-blond hair and perfect physique, Molly soon realises that her quiet, solitary life is about to dramatically change forever...

My Rating: 5+ out of 5 stars

My Thoughts:

Sweet Rome… Sweet Molly…  What a fantastic couple they made! Their story held me captive from the first page until the last and sparked a series reading binge the likes of which I haven’t went on in years! I couldn’t stop myself! All five books over one weekend! I developed a serious addiction to the characters, their lives and this author’s writing and when the series was over, I actually wanted to cry as it felt like I was never going to ‘see’ these wonderful ‘people’ again!

Sweet Home may seem like the typical hot, man-whore, jock falls for weird geeky chick novel, but it’s not. It has depth. It has a soul
I fell in love with both Rome and Molly (and their entire group of friends) on sight. I laughed with them, hurt with them, cried with them and cheered them on as they navigated the complications of their lives, overcame their demons and found true love.
The characters and their struggle to just be together, to be happy,  really hits you in the feels and I have to applaude Tillie Cole as it takes a real gift to create a story so rich in detail and character that you know you won’t forget it because you’ll never want to.

High five for true love conquering all!

Cannot recommend this book highly enough for those that love NA college romance, love triumphing over hate, and stories with a soul.
